Lessons are held on Zoom, using an interactive whiteboard, quizzes, games, and shared documents to keep learning engaging. Students only need a device with internet access and a quiet space to work.
After each lesson, I’ll send you a short written report (usually within 24 hours) outlining what we covered, strengths shown, and suggested next steps. Every 10 lessons, I’ll provide a more detailed progress review so you can see your child’s development over time.
My approach is friendly, structured, and adaptable. I aim to build confidence by breaking down tricky concepts, encouraging curiosity, and celebrating progress. Every child learns differently, so I adjust lessons to suit individual needs.
Yes, I often provide a short, purposeful task to help consolidate what we've covered in the session. This may come from a workbook, a custom-made worksheet, or a fun, interactive online quiz or game. Homework is always optional, but many families find it beneficial for reinforcing learning at home.
All pupils also receive a Twinkl Learner Pass, which gives them access to a wide range of high-quality resources. These include phonics and spelling games, ESL activities, engaging e-books, and Twinkl’s popular Maths app.
Most lessons are 60 minutes, but I also offer 45-minute sessions for younger children or those who learn better in shorter bursts. I’ll advise on what works best for your child.
Yes - life happens! I just ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This way, I can offer the slot to another family. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may still be charged.
